This wasn’t my first travel to Italy, but the very first time in Milan. After cherishing every issue of Italian Vogue that came to my possession, following with recent Dolce & Gabbana collections as well as spending hours over Milan street style pictures, I finally set off to see this famous fashion capital.
My expectations were fully satisfied! As I was sitting in the stylish cafeteria enjoying a cappuccino at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, I watched the stylish crowd pass by. There is something about the way Milanese dress that make them refined and glamorous. Shopping seems to be one of the favorite pastimes and for all who can afford it, there certainly is where to shop. Via Montenapoleone is rated as one of the most luxurious shopping areas, with brands such as Hermés, Dior, LV, Prada, Gucci, Armani, Tod’s, Cartier and many more. As you pass most shops, high end brands as well as more high street labels, the smell of perfumed air is overwhelming and adds to the whole experience. Sales clerks are very polite and service minded, offering their assistance with a smile and enthusiasm. If at the end of your shopping excursion you decide to stop for a glass of sparkly Prosecco, you will most likely feel like you reached an urban nirvana.
